A BRC fence is made of steel wire arranged in a robust, rust-resistant frame. BRC is an acronym for British Reinforced Concrete, first used to reinforce concrete in the early twentieth century. BRC fences were initially used as security barriers in factories and enterprises, but they have moved to office buildings, shopping malls, and other public locations.
The usage of BRC fences dates back to 1901 in England when C. A. Pott and Co. established the method of creating securely drawn and bonded steel wire, which became BRC. Then, in the 1920s, BRC fences became widely utilized as security barriers worldwide, especially in Indonesia.
BRC fences were more prevalent in Indonesia throughout the 1980s and 1990s, when numerous substantial construction projects, including houses and high-rise structures, began to be developed. BRC fences are rust-resistant, sturdy, and easy to install, making them an excellent choice for security fences and guardrails.
In addition, BRC fences are considered less expensive than other fences, such as concrete or wooden fences. This makes BRC fences a popular option among Indonesian building owners and contractors.
A BRC fence is a type of steel fence that consists of woven wire with equal distances between the horizontal and vertical wires. BRC is an acronym for British Reinforced Concrete, which was initially used to reinforce concrete. However, this material has been employed throughout time to create strong, rust-resistant, and secure fences.
Strong and safe
BRC fences are built of U55-grade high-tension steel with a permitted stress of 2900 kg/cm2, almost 2.5 times the strength of conventional iron. Therefore, they are exceptionally robust and do not bend easily after installation. The triangle shape at the top and bottom of the BRC fence is 10 cm wide, nearly double the width of other comparable fences, which are just 6 cm wide, giving the BRC fence additional rigidity.
Rust resistant
BRC fences are completed with two layers: galvanized and electroplating.
According to studies and experiments, the galvanized layer is rust-resistant for more than ten years before requiring maintenance or painting. It is ideal for usage or installation in corrosive environments such as the beach, sulfur-rich areas, or near industries. Meanwhile, the electroplating layer lasts around two years before requiring maintenance or painting.
Affordable
A BRC fence with an electroplating layer sells for just Rp. 250,000 per 2.4 m length, the lowest price of any fence. Furthermore, when installed with BRC poles, the BRC fence may be closed at any moment without causing damage, allowing it to be readily relocated.
Quick Installation
BRC fence installation is very versatile and straightforward; for example, you can use ready-to-install BRC poles (complete with caps, bolts, u-clips, and anchors) attached to the reinforcement of the concrete poles to be cast.
Minimalist
BRC fence is a minimalist fence that has been around in Indonesia for over 20 years and continues to suit minimalist design tastes in line with current designs, namely with attractive vertical and horizontal lines. Welding at the joints is done with high-quality machinery, resulting in tidy and elegant joints.
